siding installation and the homeowner said….

DSC01080This home was built in the 1960s and ready for an extreme makeover. The homeowner wanted to update to a maintenance free exterior and get that crisp clean look to make it feel new again!

We started by removing the old aluminum siding. To help reduce energy costs, we installed Green Guard(™) 1/2” insulation rigid foam board AND Tyvek HouseWrap. The insulation board adds R-value and the HouseWrap acts as a wind barrier and moisture barrier. What was really cool was the home owner said they “could really feel the difference right away, and couldn’t believe how much warmer the house stays” even with the bitter cold and high winds outside.

We proudly install Michigan-made CertainTeed Siding…it’s made in Jackson. On this home the homeowner decided on the Double 4” profile, Granite Gray color and as you can see white trim to accent and bring out the richness of the siding.

Has anyone use hardypanels

or hardy plank as an alternative to exteriors stucco? I know the fiber cement is great for siding, but I'm looking for 4X8 panels that will not overlap.
1. How do you install them
2. how do you keep the water out of the joints
Home depot carries a 4X8 sheet but they have no idea how to install. I checked their website, and they only have installation instructions for narrow overlapping siding.
if any of you know of a better product, any info will be
greatly appreciated.
this is the look I'm after
